What does "Dendro" mean anyway?

Dendro is short for dendrology, which literally means the study of trees. If you were a freshman in a college of forestry or plant science, your first semester would include a dendrology class to learn the identities all the trees within your ecoregion. The field portion of this course would involve ventures into local forests, which students often call their "Dendro Lab." I've borrowed the name because everyone deserves a Dendro Lab, not just those who choose forestry as a profession!
